FarmQA's soil sampling functionality lets you associate the samples you collect with management zones that you create or store in FarmQA. Soil sample data can then be accessed from the Soils tab to accurately assess soil fertility within those zones. - Log in to your FarmQA account from the mobile app if you haven't already.
- Locate and click on the field you want to setup zone sampling geomarkers in.
- Click on the Layers icon then turn on the management zone layer that has the zones you want to use for sampling in it (pictured below).
- Click on one of your zones and then click the Drop marker at location button (pictured below).
- Input the following information for your geomarker (pictured below):
- Select Soil sample as the geomarker type.
- Name the Marker name/id and Marker description the same as the zone you placed the soil geomarker in.
- When you've input this information, click the Save marker button at the bottom of the screen.
- Repeat the above steps until you have soil geomarkers for all of the zones in that field (pictured below).
Using zone sampling markers while sampling
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the mobile app if you haven't already.
- Locate and click on the field you want to take samples for.
- Click on the Layers icon and turn on your management zone and soil sample geomarker layers (pictured below).
- When collecting a soil sample, click on the soil sample geomarker that corresponds to the zone that you are sampling in. Scan in the barcode or enter the reference number for that sample and it will then be associated with that zone.
- When your samples have been collected and processed, they will be associated with each zone geomarker and will be viewable from the Soil page (pictured below).
