Creating a new work item for a field in the FarmQA web app
Completing an assigned task from the FarmQA mobile app
Navigating the Work tab
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app if you aren't already.
- Click on the Work
icon.
- Checking the box to the left of a work item will give you the following options:
Complete: Mark your work item as being completed and assign a completion date. You also have the option to include a note to associate with your work item. This note can be added to the start or end of an existing note, or can replace an existing note, based on what you choose in the Notes dropdown menu (pictured below).

Assign: Assign a task to a user, whether the task already has a user assigned to it or not. You also have the option to include a note to associate with your work item. This note can be added to the start or end of an existing note, or can replace an existing note, based on what you choose in the Notes dropdown menu (pictured below).

- Excel: Click the
More button, then click on the Excel option to export the tasks currently displayed on the Work page to an excel document (pictured below).

- Delete: Click the
More button, then click on the Delete option to delete any tasks you currently have selected. Click the Delete button to confirm that you want to delete this/these task(s) (pictured below).

- Use the Group by dropdown to organize your Work tab further. The Group by dropdown menu offers the following options:
- Priority: groups tasks by the task's priority, with the lowest priority tasks appearing at the top of the list.

- Creator: groups tasks by the creator of the task in alphabetical order based on the task creator's name.

- Assigned to: groups tasks based on the FarmQA user the task is assigned to. The list is sorted alphabetically based on the name of the person the task is assigned to.
- Checking the Show completed box in the upper right-hand corner of the screen will display both the uncompleted and completed work items in your FarmQA account (pictured below).
Creating task types
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app.
- Click on the Work
icon, then go to the Task Types tab.
- Click the blue Add
button at the bottom of the screen to add a new task type (pictured below).
- Complete the following steps to setup your new task type:
- Give your new task type a Name.
- Use the Select task category dropdown menu to pick the type for your task. This should roughly match your task's name.
- Click the Save
icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen to save your new task type.
Creating a new work item for a field in the FarmQA web app
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app if you aren't already.
- Click on Fields
icon, then select the field you want to create a work item for by clicking the box to the left of the name of your desired field.
- Click on the Schedule task button at the top of the screen. Then, choose the task type you'd like to create (pictured below).
- Complete the following steps to setup your task:
- Use the calendar to set the Finish by date for this task.
- Set the Priority of the task to either Low, Medium, or High.
- Use the Assignee dropdown to choose the user you want to assign this task to.
- If desired, provide further Instructions for completing this task.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the Create tasks window to complete setting up your task.
Schedule a scouting task while scouting a field
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the mobile app if you aren't already.
- Click on a field and complete a scouting report like you normally would.
- When you've completed your scouting report, click the green Submit
button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
- The Submit reports page will give you a Schedule Scout task
option. Toggle on that option on to begin scheduling a scouting task (pictured below).
- Click the Edit
button to set the number of days in the future you'd like to schedule the scouting task for. You can only set a day between 1 and 180 days in the future. Click OK when you're done (pictured below).
- Click the text box to add instructions that are associated with your new task.
- Click the Submit button to submit your scouting report and create your new scouting task for this field (pictured below).
Creating new work items from the FarmQA mobile app
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the mobile app if you haven't already.
- Click on the Work
icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Click the blue Add
button, then select whether you want to add a Soil Sample
or Scout
task (pictured below).
- Complete the following to create a new task:
- Click the Select fields button to access the menu needed to select the field(s) you want to assign your task to. Use the Search bar to search for fields by inputting the name of or crops assigned to the field(s) (pictured below).

- Click on Start after and Finish by to access the calendars needed to set a timeframe you want the task finished over (pictured below).

- Use the Priority dropdown to set the priority you want the task to have (pictured below).

- Use the Assigned to dropdown to choose the member of your organization you'd like to assign this task to (pictured below).

- Add any Instructions you'd like to pass on to the user who will be completing this task, then press the Create button.
- NOTE: If you're assigning this task to multiple fields, you'll be prompted and asked if you want to create tasks for the number of fields you added it for (pictured below).
- Add any Instructions you'd like to pass on to the user who will be completing this task, then press the Create button.
Completing an assigned task from the FarmQA mobile app
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the mobile app if you aren't already.
- Click on the Work
icon at the bottom of the screen and select one of the tasks assigned to you (pictured below).
- After reviewing the information in the task screen, click on the blue arrow in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to go to the field the task was created for. You can then complete said task within that field (pictured below).
- When you've completed your assigned task, click on the Work
icon again and go back to the task you just completed.
- Within the task, click on the on the green Submit
button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen (pictured below).
- Before completing your task, you can toggle on the Update note option to leave an additional note associated with this task in the Work page (pictured below).
- Click the Save button to complete your task.
