Scouting in FarmQA runs on the mobile app: you open a field, answer the questions in your scouting template, add photos or drawings where they help, and submit. Submitted reports sync to the web, where agronomists review, export, and turn them into recommendations. This article is the map. Each step links to its own guide.
You don't have to read everything before your first report. Get the app on your phone, check that your fields show up, and start scouting.
Before you head to the field
- Get your device ready for the FarmQA mobile app: check device requirements, download the app, and turn on camera and location access.
- Navigate the FarmQA mobile app [LINK-1]: learn what each tab does and how to move around the map.
- Getting fields to show up in the FarmQA mobile app: fix missing fields, usually a crop or growing season that isn't set.
- Syncing your mobile app: bring your fields, templates, and layers onto the device.
- Using the FarmQA mobile app in offline mode: scout where there's no signal.
Scout a field
- Fill out a scouting report [LINK-2]: record observations on a field, submit the report, or save it and finish later.
- Add a picture or drawing to a scouting observation [LINK-3]: show what you saw and where.
- Start an ad hoc scouting report [LINK-4]: scout somewhere that isn't set up as a field.
- Scout multiple fields at the same time with batch scouting: one report across several fields.
- Starting a scouting report from last week's report: carry last week's answers forward.
After you submit
- Accessing and viewing your submitted scouting reports: find a report on the web or in the app.
- Editing a submitted scouting report: correct a report after it's in.
- Exporting your scouting reports from the FarmQA web app: send a PDF to a grower.
