Get your device ready for the FarmQA mobile app

Check that your phone or tablet can run the FarmQA mobile app, then turn on camera and location access so you can take photos, scan barcodes, and see where you are on the map in the field.

Performance depends on how much data is in your account. Large accounts run better on devices with more memory.

Set up an iPhone or iPad

Open Settings.
Scroll down and select FarmQA. If you don't see it, search Settings for FarmQA.
Turn on Camera.
Select Location, then select While Using the App.

Set up an Android phone or tablet

Menu names vary by phone maker. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for FarmQA.

Open Settings, then select Apps.
Select FarmQA.
Select Permissions.
Select Camera, then select Allow only while using the app.
Go back, select Location, then select Allow only while using the app.

On Android, if camera access is off when you go to scan a barcode, the app asks for it. If you declined it before, the app points you to your phone's settings to turn it back on.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why can't I get the latest version of the app on my iPhone? A: The app needs iOS 15 or later. Update your iPhone or iPad in Settings › General › Software Update, then update FarmQA from the App Store.

Q: Why can't I scan a barcode or take a photo? A: Camera access is probably off for FarmQA. Turn it on using the setup steps above for your device.
