If you're unable to access some of your data in the FarmQA mobile app, like if you're missing field boundaries or can't access your map layers, the problem might be as simple as your mobile app not being synced up. Below, you'll find step-by-step instructions to learn how to sync your mobile app as well as tweak the settings for syncing your map layers to your mobile app.
Syncing map layers to your FarmQA mobile app
Syncing up your mobile app
Available from the: MOBILE APP
Permissions: ALL USERS
- Click on the Settings
tab in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
- In the slide-out pane the user can click the Sync Now
button (pictured below).
- The arrows in the Sync Now button will begin to spin, indicating that the app is currently syncing. Once those arrows stop spinning, your app will be synced up and all relevant data should be on your device.
Syncing map layers to your mobile app
Available from the: MOBILE APP
Permissions: ALL USERS
- Click on the Settings
tab in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Click on the Layer sync preferences
button. You can access the following options on this page (pictured below):
- Toggle on the Sync layer images on WiFi only
option to have the layer images for your map layers sync and download to your device on WiFi only to conserve your mobile data.
- Use the Days to sync box to enter the number of days you want your time-based map layers to sync back to. This will not affect your Permanent or Growing season-based map layers.
- Check the boxes next to the layer you want to sync under the Choose layers to sync header. You can sync more than one layer at a time.
- Scroll down to the Farms/organization to sync section to select the levels of your organization you want these layers to sync up for. Syncing map layers for all your fields will likely take some time.
- Toggle on the Sync layer images on WiFi only
- Click the Back
arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to save your changes and return to the Settings
page. Your mobile app will then begin the process of syncing up these map layers.
