Tasks require the Tasks add-on
The QA Advisor by FarmQA mobile app downloads open tasks to your phone so your team can work in the field, even offline. Three settings on your phone control which open tasks download: tasks with no start date, tasks assigned to someone else, and tasks that start too far in the future can each be left off.
If a task shows up on the web but not on your phone, check these settings first. The task list and the map both use the tasks on your phone, so a task that doesn't download won't appear in either place.

How the settings work

Change your task sync preferences
Wait for any sync in progress to finish before you change these settings. Changes made during a sync may not be saved.
- Select Settings.
- Select Sync preferences. This is a separate screen from Layer sync preferences.
- Set Sync tasks with no start date, Only sync tasks assigned to me, and Days ahead to sync open tasks.
- Return to Settings and select Sync Now.
- Reopen Sync preferences to confirm your changes were kept.
Hold a task back until it's ready
To keep a task from showing as ready to work, give it a start date rather than leaving the start date blank or turning off Sync tasks with no start date. A task with a start date downloads like any other open task and shows as Pending through its start date, then turns Ready on its own. A task with no start date always shows as Ready.
These sync settings only control which tasks reach your phone. They don't change whether a task shows as Pending or Ready. For what each status means on the map, see Coloring fields in the mobile app.
Frequently asked questions
Q: A task shows on the web but not on my phone. What should I check? A: Check the three settings above, then select Sync Now. Also confirm your phone is set to the same growing season as the task.
Q: Why did adding a start date make a task appear on my phone? A: Sync tasks with no start date is turned off on that phone. Turn it on to download tasks that have no start date.
Q: Does Days ahead to sync open tasks decide whether a task is Ready or Pending? A: No. It only controls which tasks download. Ready and Pending depend on the task's start date.
Q: When I color fields by task, some fields disappear from the map. Why? A: When you color by task, the map shows only fields with a task that matches the conditions selected under Task condition. To see every field, select No tasks under Task condition, or switch Field color to Crop.
Q: Why don't I see completed tasks on my phone? A: The mobile app downloads only open tasks. View completed tasks on the web.
