Water events let you log rain and irrigation directly in a field's journal, tied to the field and growing season. The total moisture across all water events appears in the journal and carries through to the exported PDF, so you can review field conditions and share accurate records without manual calculation.
You can add water events from the web app or the mobile app.
Add a water event (web)
- Open the field journal from the Home tab or the Fields tab.
- Select + Add entry at the bottom of the events panel.
- Select Water event as the event type.
- Fill in the event details:
- Date — the date the event occurred.
- Time — the time of the event. This value appears on the event card in the journal and is included in exports.
- Type — select Rain or Irrigation.
- Amount — enter the amount. Amounts display in your account's unit preference.
- Note — optional. Add any context you want to appear on the event card.
- Select Save.
The event appears in the journal chronologically. The running total of all rain and irrigation events for the period displays in the Water events section header.
Edit a water event (web)
- Select the water event card in the journal to open it.
- Select Edit.
- Update any fields, including Time if the original entry was incorrect.
- Select Save.
The corrected time updates on the event card and carries through to any exported PDFs.

- Fill in the event details and select Save.
View water totals
The field journal displays a total moisture value — the sum of all rain and irrigation events — in the Water events section when events are grouped by event type. The total updates automatically when you add, edit, or delete water events.
To see the total:
- Open the field journal.
- Set Group by to Group by event or Group by event with fertility.
The Water events section header shows the total moisture for the filtered period.
