An import profile tells FarmQA how to read your lab's CSV file — which columns map to grower, field, and sample ID, and which columns hold each soil property. Set one up once per file format and reuse it every time you import from that lab.
Before you start, make sure you have at least one soil depth set up. See Add a soil depth.
Create the profile
- Select the Soil icon, then select the Settings tab.
- Select the Add button next to the Import Profile header.
- Drag your lab's CSV file into the upload area or select it from your computer.
- Fill in the profile details:
- Name — a name for this profile
- Who produced the file — the lab that generated the file (optional)
- Grower — the column in your CSV that contains the grower or farm name
- Field — the column that contains the field name
- Sample ID — the column that contains the sample ID (optional)
- Sample date — the column that contains the sample date (optional)
- Select Next.
Map your soil properties
On the next page, check the box next to each soil property you want to import, then select Next.
Assign property details
For each selected property, set the following:
- Soil property — the soil chemical property that corresponds to the column (for example, NO3 maps to Nitrogen)
- Unit of measure — the unit your lab reports that property in
- Depth — the depth the samples were taken at. If you need to add a depth, select Add soil depth.
- Metric — the metric to associate with this property. If you need to add one, select Add soil metric.
Select Save.
