Getting FarmQA running comes down to a few steps: get into your account, set up your organization and your people, add your fields and crops, then set up scouting and recommendations. This article is the map. Each step links to its own guide.
You don't have to set everything up before you start. Most operations get their organization, fields, and crops in place first, then add scouting templates, products, and mixes as the season calls for them. For how all the pieces connect, see How FarmQA is organized.
Get into your account
- Create a FarmQA account — Start a new account for your operation. Only do this if no one in your organization uses FarmQA yet.
- Sign in for the first time — Sign in with the login your administrator created for you. If your company already uses FarmQA, start here instead of creating an account.
Set up your organization and users
- Setting up and editing your organization structure — Build the levels of your operation, such as growers and farms, so data and access follow the way you work.
- User licenses and roles — See what each role can do, which license it uses, and how many licenses you have left.
- Manage users — Add people to your account, give them access to the right organizations, and change their roles. Enterprise Administrators only.
Add your fields and crops
- Adding varieties — Add the crop varieties you grow under the crops in your account.
- Creating fields — Draw or upload your field boundaries one field at a time. To bring in many fields at once, send your shapefiles to FarmQA Support for a bulk upload.
- Assigning crops and varieties to fields — Tie each field to what's planted there this season.
Set up scouting
- Editing an existing scouting template — Change the questions and sections your scouts fill out.
- Assigning scouting templates — Set which template opens by default for each crop or variety.
Set up recommendations
- Adding chemical products — Add the products you recommend, including from the EPA product list.
- Creating chemical mixes — Combine products into tank mixes you can reuse.
- Working with recommendations in FarmQA — Write recommendations and follow them through to an application record.
Once you're up and running
- Field Journals — See every event on a field for the season in one place.
- Exporting your scouting reports — Share scouting reports as PDFs from the web application or the mobile app.
- Adding map layers — Bring your own maps and imagery onto your fields.
- Analytics — Build metrics and dashboards from your account's data.
