Set soil sample markers

Soil sample markers define the exact locations you'll sample in a field. You can set them by dropping points manually on the map or import an existing set from a file.

Drop markers manually

Use the mobile app or scout.farmqa.com — the workflow is the same on both.

1. Select the Fields tab and select the field you're collecting soil samples for.
2. Select the location on the map where you want to place a marker, then select Drop marker at location.
3. Select Soil sample as the marker type.
4. Enter a name or ID for the marker in the Marker name/id field.
5. Select SAVE MARKER

Repeat for each sample location. Your markers appear on the field map as you add them.

Import markers from a file

1. Select the Home tab, then open the slide-out map pane.
2. Under Markers, select the Edit icon next to the Soil sample marker layer.
3. Drag a KML, KMZ, GeoJSON, or zipped shapefile into the upload area, or select it from your computer.
4. Use the Use shape file attributes as pin name dropdown to set how markers are named.
5. If your markers are in the wrong location, check Move existing markers to reposition them.
6. Select Upload.
