When a field's shape this season should match an earlier season, copy that season's boundary instead of redrawing it. If the field was split in that season, every part comes across as its own field, so you don't have to split it again each year. You can also reset a field to its master boundary, or make the boundary you copy the field's new master boundary.
Copy boundaries for one field from the map, or for many fields at once from the Fields list. Crops don't change. For how seasons and master boundaries relate, see How field boundaries work across growing seasons.

Open Copy field boundaries
The field needs a crop in the season you're working in. Select that season first.
For one field:
- On the Home map, select the field.
- In the field pane, select More (…), then Copy field boundaries.
For several fields:
- Open the Fields list and check the box next to each field.
- Select Manage field data, then Copy field boundaries.
Choose a boundary for each field
The Copy field boundaries dialog lists one row per field. The columns are Master boundary, Keep current, and then each earlier season, newest first. Each option shows the boundary and how many fields it holds. A season only appears when its boundary differs from the field's current one.
- In each row, select the boundary you want the field to take. To use the same column for every field, select the column's name at the top.
- Optional: check Update the master boundary to match selection to make your pick each field's master boundary from now on.
- Select Update Field Shape.
Copying a split. When the option you pick shows more than one field, the field was split in that season. Choosing it splits the field the same way this season, with every part as its own field. This works for fields split with the old Split tool too. A split boundary can't become the master boundary, so the master boundary stays as it is for those fields, and the dialog says so.
Resetting to the master boundary. Pick Master boundary to put the field back to its permanent shape. The master boundary itself doesn't change.
Why a field might be skipped
The dialog lists any fields it left out and why:
- Its harvest status limits changes. Fields locked by harvest status can't take a new boundary.
- It's already split this season. A field with more than one part this season can't take a new boundary, because its records can't be divided between fields.
- It has no field this season. Assign a crop first. See Assign a crop to a field.
- Its boundary is the same in every season. There's nothing different to copy.
Copy field boundaries doesn't appear for seasons that are archived.
