Tasks carry the actual work on your fields in FarmQA: who scouts, samples, applies, or plants, and when it should be done. You set up the kinds of work your team does once, create tasks from wherever you already are in FarmQA, and your team completes them on the web or in the mobile app. This article is the map. Each step links to its own guide.
Tasks are part of the Tasks add-on. Everyone who creates tasks or is assigned tasks needs a Workflow license. See Setting up a user with a Workflow license.
Set up tasks
- Manage task types — Add a task type for each kind of work your team does. You can't create a task until a task type exists for it.
Work with tasks
- Create a task — Schedule work on one or more fields from the Home map, the Fields page, a recommendation, or the mobile app.
- Schedule a follow-up task while scouting — Schedule a return scouting visit or a review of the report when you submit a scouting report in the mobile app.
- Complete a task — Mark work done on the web or in the mobile app, with a completion date and notes.
- Manage tasks — Find, group, reassign, close out, delete, and export tasks from the Work list.
- Using the daily task view — See a week of work by person and drag tasks to a new day or a new assignee.
- Get turn-by-turn directions to a field in the mobile app — Drive to the field a task is on.
Tasks in other areas
Some tasks have their own setup in the area where you do the work:
- Create a soil sampling task — Define where to sample, which lab results go to, and who collects them.
- Collect soil samples using a task — Collect against a task's sample points in the mobile app.
