Run a formula on a field

Run a formula on a field's soil results to turn them into a zone map of rates, such as a nitrogen or lime rate calculated from each sample. You can run more than one formula at a time. Afterward you can edit the resulting map in Zone Designer or export it as a shapefile.

You need a formula in your account first. See Adding a formula to your FarmQA account.

Run the formula

1. On the Home page, select the field.
2. Under Layers, open Soil results and select the layer to run the formula on.
3. Select Run formula.
4. In the Process formula window, select Add formulas.
5. In the Add formulas window, check the box next to each formula you want to run, then select Add.
6. Select Process.

The results appear in a folder under Soil results on the field.

Edit a formula zone map

1. On the Home page, select the field.
2. Under Layers, select Soil results, then open the folder that holds the map.
3. Select the map, then select Edit at the top of the screen.

The map opens in Zone Designer. To change it, see Edit management zones.

Export a formula zone map

1. On the Home page, select the field.
2. Under Layers, select Soil results, then open the folder that holds the map.
3. Select the arrow next to your formula results, then select Export.
4. In the Export window, check Export to shapefile, then check Collect geometries.
5. Select Export.
