Adding a Davis weather station to your FarmQA account
- Login to your FarmQA account from the web app if you haven't already.
- Click on the Settings icon, then click on the Sensors tab.
- Click the blue Add button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, then select the Add new weather station option (pictured below).
- In the Add weather station page, click the Davis button.
- Complete the following steps in the Add Davis weather station page (pictured below):
- Input the Station ID.
- Enter your Password.
- Click the Validate button.
- After you've clicked the Validate button, your Davis station will be setup and it will be viewable in the Map page.
Setting up a virtual weather station in your FarmQA account
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app if you haven't already.
- Click on the Settings icon, then click on the Sensors tab.
- Click on the Add button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, and then select the Add new weather station option (pictured below).
- In the Add weather station window, click on the Virtual button.
- Complete the following steps in the Add Virtual weather station window (pictured below):
- Give your station a Name.
- Use the map to Select a location for your virtual weather station.
- Click the Validate button once you've completed steps 1 and 2.
- Once your virtual weather station has been validated, click the Add button in the Add virtual weather station window (pictured below).
Accessing weather station data in the FarmQA web app
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app if you haven't already.
- In the Home page, click on the slide-out map pane and check the box next to Weather stations under the MARKERS header (pictured below).
- Once you turn on the Weather stations markers, click on the station you want to view data for.
- When you click on the weather station you'll be able to access the data associated that that station (pictured below).
Accessing field specific weather data in the FarmQA web app
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app if you haven't already.
- In the Home , locate and click on the field you want to access weather data for.
- In the slide-out map pane, scroll down until you see the WEATHER HISTORY header and click on the Expand button.
- You'll then be able to access the following information (pictured below):
- Hourly temperature and precipitation graphed over the last 3 days
- Accumulated growing degree days (GDD).
- Today's total precipitation.
- Total precipitation this growing season.
Overlaying weather radar over your fields in the FarmQA web app
- Log in to your FarmQA account form the web app if you haven't already.
- In the Home page, click on the slide-out map pane.
- Under the OVERLAYS header, click on the Radar button.
- We will now overlay radar and overlay this over your fields. We can also show radar over time by clicking on the Play button under the Radar button (pictured below).
Assigning a weather station to a specific folder in your organization
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app if you haven't already.
- Click on the Settings icon, then click on the Organization tab.
- Click on the folder you want to assign a weather station to, then click on the Unspecified button under the Default weather station header (pictured below).
- Complete the following steps in the Choose station window:
- Use the Select a station dropdown to select the station you want to assign to this station.
- Click the Save button.
Assigning a virtual weather station to your fields
- Log in to your FarmQA account from the web app if you haven't already.
- Click on the slide-out map pane, then turn on the Weather stations map layer under the MARKERS header.
- Locate and click on your desired weather station, then click on the Assign station to fields button at the bottom of the weather station window (pictured below).
- Complete the following steps in the Assign weather station to field(s) pane (pictured below):
- Select a station to assign to your fields.
- Click on the field(s) you want to assign to this station.
- Click the Assign button once you've made your selections.
