Export a prescription as a shapefile to load into your monitor, or as a PDF to give to your grower or applicator. You can export one prescription or several at once from the Prescriptions tab, up to your account's limit per PDF.
The PDF opens with combined product totals for everything in the export, then a page for each field. Each field page names the grower and operation the field belongs to, shows the acres that actually receive product, and includes a zone map with every zone labeled with its name and rate.

Choose what to export
- Select Fields, then select the Prescriptions tab.
- Check the box next to each prescription you want to export.
- Select Export.
Each PDF export holds up to a set number of prescriptions, which is part of your account settings. If you have more than that, export them in batches. To raise the limit, email support@farmqa.com.
Set your export options
- On the Export prescriptions page, choose Shapefile or PDF.
- If you chose PDF, set how the PDF looks:
- Map type — the background shown behind the zone map.
- Header — what appears at the top of each page. To show the grower and operation above each field, choose Organization - Field.
- Orientation — portrait or landscape.
- Page size — the paper size to print on.
- Label data — on by default. Turn them off if you want the zone map without names and rates.
- Select Export.
A shapefile export downloads as a zipped folder containing .DBF, .PRJ, .SHP, and .SHX files. Load the folder into your monitor as-is.
What's in the PDF
Combined product totals comes first and covers the whole export:
- The number of fields and the number of prescriptions in the export, reported together.
- Total acres, with each field counted once however many products cover it. Four fields totaling 142.9 acres with two products report 142.9 acres.
- Product totals across all fields.
Each field page covers one field:
- Identification — the two organization levels directly above the field, outermost first (for example, grower then farm). Where only one level exists above the field, that name appears alone. This keeps pages in order when a packet is split between an applicator and a grower.
- Location — the field's latitude and longitude.
- Rx attributes — the products in the prescription.
- Acres and rates — total field acres, the acres that receive product, the average rate across those acres, and the acres that receive nothing. On a 38.9-acre field where MAP goes out at 200 lb/ac on 16.6 acres, the page shows 200 lb/ac on 16.6 acres. The average rate over all field acres also stays on the page.
- Zone table — the rate and total product for each zone.
- Zone map — each zone labeled with its name, exactly as you entered it, and its rate for that page's product. Zones that receive nothing are labeled as zero-rate, so every shape on the map matches a row in the table.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why doesn't the total acreage equal the sum of each product's acres?
A: Combined product totals count each field once. A field covered by two products still adds its acres only once to the total. Each product's own acres are on the field pages.
Q: Why is the rate on the field page higher than the average I expected?
A: The headline rate is averaged over the acres that actually receive product, which is the rate the applicator runs. The average over all field acres, including zones at zero, is also on the page.
Q: Why can't I export all my prescriptions to one PDF?
A: Your account has a maximum number of prescriptions per PDF export. Select fewer prescriptions and export in batches, or email support@farmqa.com to raise the limit.
