Add a scouting drawing to the map in your scouting report export
Enabling drawings for your scouting observations
Available from the: WEB APP
Permissions: ENTERPRISE ADMINISTRATOR, AGRONOMIST
- In the Scouting page, click on the Templates tab and select the report with the question you want to edit.
- Locate the question you want to enable drawings for, and make sure the 'Allow scouts to draw on map' box in the QUESTION DETAILS pane has been checked (pictured below).
Adding a drawing to your scouting observations
Available from the: MOBILE APP
Permissions: ENTERPRISE ADMINISTRATOR, AGRONOMIST, STANDARD, GROWER, CROP SCOUT
- Create a scouting observation by clicking on a field, clicking the green Add
button, then selecting the Add observation
button.
- Add an answer to a question that scouting drawings can be added for, then click on the Option
button in the upper right-hand corner of the question (pictured below).
- Click on the Draw on Map
button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen (pictured below).
- In the Add drawing page, users have the option to add the following types of drawings:

Line
- Click on two points in a field to draw a line on your map. Use this function to show a path where you walked in a field, or show the current location of an irrigation pivot.

Polygon
- Click on the corners of a polygon to draw out an area in your field. Use this to capture an area where you found a weed patch or a wet spot. Not that when you draw this in a field, we'll show you the area in acres that this polygon encompasses.

Circle
- Click on the center of where you want your circle to be then drag your finger out to draw a circle. Use this to capture an area where you found a weed patch or a wet spot. Not that when you draw this in a field, we'll show you the area in acres that this polygon encompasses.

Point
- Tap on the field where you'd like to drop individual points. Use this to mark locations where you found plants that showed disease or had insects on them.

Drive
- Use this function to track your location as you drive around an area in your field. The path that you drove will be recorded and saved to your device. Use this to record an area where you found a weed patch or drownout. Not that when you draw this in a field, we'll show you the area in acres that this polygon encompasses.
- When you've completed your drawings, click on the Exit
button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to save your drawing. A miniature version of that drawing will then be shown as an answer to your scouting observation (pictured below).
Add a scouting drawing to the map in your scouting report export
Available from the: MOBILE APP, WEB APP
Permissions: ALL USERS
- In the Scouting page, locate and click on the report that you want to export.
- Click on the dropdown next to the PDF export option, then check the Show drawings on main map option (pictured below).
- Any scouting drawings that are associated with this report will be superimposed on the map in the upper right-hand corner of your scouting report (pictured report).
