Check out this article to learn more about adjusting the extent of your app, toggling the background imagery on and off, and working with location tracking in the FarmQA mobile app.
Toggle the background map on and off
Zoom to extent
- Log in to the FarmQA mobile app if you aren't already.
- In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click on the Zoom to extent button (pictured below).
- The image displayed in the FarmQA mobile app will now adjust to show the full extent of the level of your organization you're working in. Here are some examples to give you an idea of how this works:
- If you're working in a field and press Zoom to extent , the image in your mobile app will zoom out to show you all of the field.
-
- If you're working within a grower branch of your organization, pressing Zoom to extent will show you all of the fields assigned to that grower.
Toggling the background map on and off
- Log in to the FarmQA mobile app if you aren't already.
- Click on any field, then press the Map button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (pictured below).
- The background image will no longer display satellite imagery, but a default map image will be displayed instead. This is optimal if you're scouting in an area with poor cell service where a map image might not load quickly. You can turn the map back on by pressing the Map button again.
Location tracking
- Log in to the FarmQA mobile application if you aren't already.
- There are three location modes in the FarmQA mobile app: Default, Tracking, and Tracking w/orienting. The icons associated with these modes are shown below.
- Here are brief descriptions of each location mode:
- Default: users are able to freely adjust the extent of the map and the map image shown.
- Tracking: access this mode by pressing the Location button once. The extent of map will be set based on what it was when you had it at when you pressed the Location button, and the map image will snap to your current location. The image displayed in the mobile app will adjust as you move through the field you're scouting.
- Tracking w/orienting: access this mode by pressing the Location button twice. Like in Tracking mode, the extent of the map is set, and the map image displayed will adjust with you as you move through the field. A compass icon will be added to your list of location functions. The red arrow on the compass will always point North, allowing you to orient yourself in the field.
