The first step to using FarmQA recommendations is to create a set of products that can be used for recommendation writing. Chemical products can be added to your FarmQA account though 1) a product look-up via an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) integration, 2) a spreadsheet import via FarmQA support, or 3) manually adding products. This article will walk you through all three options.
If you are looking for more general instructions on the recommendation writing process, see this article.

Importing Products to FarmQA
- Each product you import from the Product Import Template spreadsheet must contain a ProductName. All other columns can be left blank if desired.
- If you're confused about what each column title refers to, look up a product already imported into FarmQA. The product parameter names in FarmQA closely correspond with the column names in the Product Import Template spreadsheet. For example, the RateQuantity column in the Excel sheet will be used to fill in the application Rate for the product in FarmQA.
- Use the Values sheet in the Product Import Template spreadsheet as a guide for how to fill in the ProductType, Units, ApplicationMethod, and ApplicationPeriods columns. Columns like ProductType will only read in certain values like Desiccant or Herbicide to match up with values in the FarmQA system.
- You can setup any number of ingredients in the sheet by using the IngredientName, IngredientPct, and IngredientGroup column headers. You'll have to add a number at the of the column header for each ingredient you add. For example, if you're adding three ingredients to your product, you'll need to title your ingredient name columns IngredientName1, IngredientName2, and IngredientName3.
- You can specify multiple crops to apply this product to in the CropNames column by separating the crop names with a | .
